AdGroup was actually started in 1986 by Andrew Walker as Adbus Ltd, a bus advertising contractor based in Yorkshire.
During the 1990's the company grew out of its initial North of England area to represent over 100 bus companies throughout the UK.
In 1996 Adbus formed its own in-house design, print & production arm to help advertisers.
In 2000 Adbus formed a joint venture company in Malta & managed MaltaBus Advertising Ltd based on the island. This company represented & sold the advertising space on all the islands 500 buses. This was sold to our partners in 2007.
In 2003 & 2004, Adbus also opened up branches in Portugal & then Spain.
In 2004 Adbus then took over Decker Media Ltd. Based in Nottingham, this company had started in 1990 and represented a number of important bus companies & an Airport. This takeover allowed Adbus to become the second largest bus advertising company in the UK.
In 2005, Adbus took over the management of the advertising for Caledonian MacBrayne, the Scottish state owned Ferry Operator.
Also in 2005, Adbus started a new venture in roundabout & boundary sign sponsorship for Local Authorities.
In 2006, Adbus was approached by Titan Worldwide, a large US Outdoor company & this led to a de-merger of the various parts of Adbus. Titan bought 50.1% of the bus advertising companies which were renamed Titan Bus & Titan Bus UK Ltd. In December 2008 Titan Outdoor bought the remaining 49.9% of the shares in Titan Bus. These companies are controlled by Titan Outdoor.
Airport Partners Ltd was set up to develop the Airport advertising arm, which had recently increased to two airports with the taking over of the Newcastle International Airport contract.
Community Partners Ltd was set up to deal with, & maximise revenues from sponsorship & advertising for state or council owned assets.
Graphic Evolution Ltd was set up as a separate company that provides the design, print & installation of its sister companies.
AdGroup Holdings Ltd (formerly Adbus Ltd) is now the management company of Airport Partners, Community Partners & Graphic Evolution.
Since 2007, all the AdGroup companies have expanded significantly.
Airport Partners, in particular, has grown enormously & now represents 20 of the top 40 UK Airports .
In 2009,Community Partners started a new division specialising in selling the advertising space at exhibitions at conference centres in October 2009 the first contract was awarded for the prestigious Harrogate International Centre.
